- Open Cosmos is excited to announce a €3.4m contract awarded by Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya - IEEC to deliver the fourth satellite of the Catalonia New Space Strategy, an initiative promoted by Generalitat’s Secretariat for Digital Policies in collaboration with the IEEC, the i2CAT Foundation, and the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC). Scheduled for launch in 2025, this microsatellite will be five times larger than its predecessor, Menut, and will host three payloads including an advanced VIS and SWIR camera, IoT and an In Orbit Demonstration for a Catalan hosted payload. 2024 March.
