Oneliner	Galaxy Express Corporation (GALEX) was established on 27 March 2001. As an entrepreneur in space industrialization and commercialization in Japan, GALEX was formed by seven major Japanese space related industries in order to develop, manufacture GX launch vehicle and provide commercial launch services.
Description	After the establishment, more Japanese and U.S. aerospace related companies joined GALEX as shareholders with consensus of GALEX business. Presently GALEX is fully devoted to development of GX launch vehicles for the scheduled maiden flight early in year 2009. Through the joint work between the government and industries in Japan for GX launch vehicle development which is the very first trial in Japan, we GALEX are committed to providing the best commercial launch services, satisfying customers needs fully.
Notes	IHI Corp. plans to liquidate a joint venture to develop the GX rocket in the wake of the government's decision to stop funding the project last month, it was learned Saturday. IHI, which has a 40 percent stake in the joint venture, concluded the project would be commercially unsustainable without government involvement since the private sector, operating alone, would have to invest about 94 billion yen in additional funding.
